Besides my bedroom, the bathroom is often the first and last room I’m in during my day. I’d always wanted one of those hotel-like bathrooms that felt clean and tranquil; it’s the ideal aesthetic to unwind in. When I moved into my current home last year, it was my goal to make this space feel zen while still having a personality that was cohesive with the rest of our home. It only took a few key pieces to achieve this and (bonus!) most items can be found on Amazon.

One. Acrylic Shelves to Display Your Cutest Products

I’ll confess: I’ll buy skincare and makeup solely based on the packaging. And if I have a drawer’s worth of cute products I’ve invested in, why would I keep it hidden?! These acrylic shelves from Amazon were the perfect solution. They helped me free up drawer space, keep my products within arm’s reach, and the clear material means they’ll work with a variety of design aesthetics.

Two. Shower Door Towel Hangers

My towel bar is on the opposite side of my bathroom. Functionally, it makes no sense, and I hate doing that shiver-walk to get my towel after I hop out of the shower. These towel hooks come in a few different finishes (I opted for gold). They hang over a glass shower door so that your towel is always within reach. It also leaves my towel bar free for decorative towels.

Three. Hanging Shower Racks

One of the biggest selling points of my apartment was the huge walk-in shower, complete with a convenient bench and built-in shelving. This is all great except I’m a neat freak who likes to hide clutter away from my eyesight. I mounted two of these racks on the back wall of my shower. They hold tons of weight and won’t rust. They even have hooks for a loofah and razor. By moving my products off the shelf, cleaning is way easier and I eliminate a lot of soap scum.

Four. Neutral Counter Organizers

To keep my counter space feeling organized, I rely on just a few pieces. A mirror laying flat makes a great tray to hold a soap dispenser and decorative vase, a glass and gold container for my most used makeup, and a woven basket for some hair clips. I would first hit up your local thrift store or Goodwill for these pieces. Don’t forget; a can of white spray paint goes a long way! Other good options are Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and Amazon for a low-budget selection.

Five. Swap Your Bath Mat for An Accent Rug

A bathroom with a lot of tiles can feel cold, both physically and visually. There’s nothing worse than a freezing floor in the morning! Instead of your typical bathmat, try an accent rug with a low pile. This will still help absorb water, feels plush on your feet, and gives some needed color and texture. I opted for a runner that spans the width of my bathroom. Vintage Turkish options are my personal favorites. There are endless options on Etsy.

Designer Picks

Small Wool Rug

Medium Turkish Rug

Neutral Sisal Runner

Six. Hang Plush Bathrobes

There’s something about a white bathrobe that feels so luxurious and instantly makes me feel like I’m in a ritzy hotel. Try hanging one on a decorative hook on the back of your door or on open wall space. This will help create the spa-like aesthetic and again, is a budget-friendly accent since this is a functional piece.
