There’s just something about spring. After a cold, gray winter, that first bit of sunlight that radiates warmth into what feels like my very bones, I’m instantly reinspired in almost every facet of my life. Wardrobe, home, hobbies, routine…I want a fresh start! This year, I certainly got what I wished for. New state, new home, new job; everything has felt quite new to me, and it’s been the perfect opportunity to rid my life of anything that felt stale and instead welcome in a new perspective on whatever has been calling me. Monthly favorites are one of my favorite types of content to enjoy, so here is everything I’ve been loving, eyeing, and planning this April.

Wardrobe
The older I get, the less experimental I feel with my wardrobe. Yes, I love shiny, new things, but I know what looks good on me and what I feel comfortable in, and I try to stick to that. No buyer’s remorse here! I’ve always been some kind of jeans and t-shirt girl and then I like to have fun with shoes, bags, and accessories. For good basics, I can never go wrong at Brandy Melville. I refuse to spend money on white tees and tanks because, let’s face it, I simply can’t keep them clean for longer than a season. Maybe twice a year, I’ll go to Brandy and stock up on different cuts. I’ve been loving pointelle (like this tank) this spring and think it’s super romantic and an easy way to spice up a basic outfit.
I have loved HART jewelry for so long and had purchased a few pieces online but it’s really not the same as shopping in person. The Charleston store is beautiful and the staff is lovely and welcoming. I’ve been wearing my custom charm necklace constantly. I love how personal it is and then you can add to it or keep it as simple as you like. I especially love it with a matching workout set if I’m running errands or walking around downtown and want to look a little more put together. I love layering it with either my silver or gold lurex cords but I’ve actually been tying one around my ankle most days! So cute with just flip flops or sandals. I’ve been eyeing the Striped Scallop Shell Cord Necklace and may have to make a trip to King St to add to my collection.

This month I’ve really had fun playing with my earring stack. I love an asymmetrical moment (and it gives me more opportunity to wear more pieces at once!) and will wear hoops with dangly chains, drop earrings, and a little cuff. My cousin is visiting next week and we have plans to add a couple more piercings to our stack. I’ve been eyeing these Alexa Leigh earrings and may have to splurge before my trip to Europe this summer.
For style inspiration, I always look to my 90s muses like Princess Di or Carolyn Bessette. The Olson twins can do no wrong and have been inspiring me since New York Minute. Some of my Instagram go-tos are Gabri Gofis, Mary Ralph Lawson and Kennedy Crichlow of Daily Drills, and Chelsea Kramer of Parke.
Home
Since my last post, Michael and I have officially moved into our new home! Everyone can tell you that owning a home will be a lot of work, and you know it will be, but nothing quite prepares you for just how much there will be to do. Luckily, we’re both homebodies and like being in our space. My favorite kind of weekend involves gardening or perusing consignment stores for that truly one-of-a-kind piece. We’ve been scoring on Facebook Marketplace lately. I love old wood, the look and quality of it, and it’s amazing what kind of pieces you can get for such a great price point.
I haven’t made a purchase yet but I’ve been on Zara Home almost every other day. I can’t speak for the quality but if you want something that looks beautiful and vintage, from plates to lighting to linens, don’t sleep on Zara!! I think this mirror would be so incredible in a powder room or above any entry table. The contrast of this vase with some spring tulips would be a perfect table centerpiece.

I’ve also been loving silver and bought a gorgeous shell bowl from Miami Mercantile as well as an iron wall-mounted candle holder I can’t wait to hang. Etsy is also great for vintage finds if you don’t have the energy to do it in person. I’ve purchased a couple vintage rugs for our home that were so well-priced and bring a special element to the rooms they’re in.
In the warmer months, you can never go wrong with lots and lots of crisp linen. I’d check out Quince for bed linens before I splurged on more expensive alternatives. I bought our queen duvet cover off Amazon and it looks and feels really luxurious for only $64.99. This sofa from Maiden Home has such a gorgeous silhouette; something about it feels nostalgic that I love. It’s incredible how furniture can evoke emotions like that.
I am so so SO excited to share more home content as we continue to make progress. I definitely post the most on TikTok and Instagram so make sure to follow there, too.
Books, TV Shows, Food, Etc.
I always have a renewed sense of energy and purpose in the spring that makes me want to do the most, but I’m also trying to slow down and be more present. Reading really does that for me and I’ve been devouring books lately. I do love a hard copy but having a Kindle makes reading much easier. My Paperwhite is probably my best purchase ever. I just finished None of This Is True by Lisa Jewel. I absolutely devoured this and finished in just a few days. The God of the Woods by Liz Moore was another incredible read I finished this month. It takes place in the Adirondacks at a kids’ summer camp and had me reminiscing on summers when I was younger.
Like everyone else on the planet, I was hooked on White Lotus this season. I needed something bingeable when I finished and Surface on Apple TV has done the trick. (Can you tell I love a thriller?!) I also started The Residence on Netflix and was instantly entranced. It has such a witty, playful tone while still being a mystery. Shona Rhimes really can do no wrong.
I’ve been walking a ton. The weather is just too good here in Charleston not to be outside. I have also started running again (sorry in advance to my knees). My goal is to run a 10k by the end of the summer. Nothing crazy compared to what some people are capable of, but I’ve really enjoyed having something to work towards. The Runna app is helping me go slow and build up endurance.

Charleston has so many incredible restaurants (travel guide one day!) and while we are fortunate to eat out maybe two to three times a month, Michael and I are both cooking at home much more to both save money and focus on our nutrition. I can’t get enough of cottage cheese on toast with an egg and drizzle of chili oil. The Amylu Breakfast Time chicken sausages are my current hyperfixation! I’ve also cut back a bit on drinking and have been loving the De Soi Italiano Spritz canned mocktails.
I could go on and on about all the things I’m passionate about but I’ll cap it there. Til next month!
