Get the Look: Kendall Jenner Home

However you feel about the Kardashians, I think there’s one thing we can agree on: their homes give some major design inspiration. And while I’m partial to Khloe’s pantry and Kris’ plate collection, it’s Kendall Jenner’s home that really spoke to me. It’s clear from the first few moments of her Architectural Digest home tour that a professional design team is responsible, but there’s something down-to-earth about her space. And lucky for us with smaller budgets, down-to-earth is easy to emulate! I’ve rounded up budget-friendly items you can add to your space and easy-to-implement tips to help turn your own space into a bohemian-inspired oasis.

How to Create a Kendall-Inspired Home

One. Bring in Warm Neutrals and Organic Textures. Kendall’s home feels cozy because she has used a warm color palette. Introduce cocoa browns, creamy whites, earthy greens, and terracotta hues. Vary your textiles to create depth and visual interest. Leather, suede, velvet, and sheepskin will feel right at home in this design.

Two. Balance the Earth Tones with Contemporary Art. One of the (many) elements that I loved in the supermodel’s home is her art collection. Art is the perfect way to bring your own taste into a room. Have fun with it! Mix photographs with paintings, and when building gallery walls, always vary the size of the prints.

Three. Mix Old and New. A good design is all about tension, and the best way to achieve that is to combine antique/vintage pieces with contemporary ones. An old farmer’s table looks that much cooler with a metal or acrylic chair. Start by thrifting small decorative pieces, like vases, trays, and mirrors, and arrange them next to your newer pieces.

Four. Incorporate Pieces from Your Travels. At the end of the day, the most important part of design is that your home feels personal to you. The pieces I treasure the most are the ones that have a personal story behind them. One of my favorite things to do when I travel is hit up the local thrift store or flea market and bring home a decorative piece. Not only will you have a great story about it, but it will be totally unique to your space!
